Our History
Founded in 2017 by Dr. Bruce H. Jackson, Charlie Life & Leadership Academy (Charlie Academy or CLLA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing quality online career-prep and leadership skill content for the next generation.
Born from Dr. Jackson’s desire to make personal and professional leadership skills easily accessible, Charlie Academy began with just a few dedicated individuals and has now become an ever-growing network of dedicated team members and partners.
The Charlie Academy Team includes authors, educators, instructional specialists, psychologists, scientists, and researchers who have worked in the highest levels of government, academia, and industry. Each team member shares a passion for improving society, one young person at a time.
Our Future
Charlie Life & Leadership Academy is a young organization with big goals for its future and the future of the young adults it serves. Charlie Academy is currently funded by the C. Charles Jackson Foundation and is working to expand revenue streams through foundation, institution, corporate, and individual contributions.
To give the next generation the skills they need to thrive in a 21st-century global community and workplace, Charlie Academy is committed to building forward-looking partnerships to support young people.

At Charlie Life & Leadership Academy (CLLA), we are committed to equipping emerging leaders with the career preparation, leadership, and life skills necessary to thrive in today’s world. Our 2024-2025 strategic plan focuses on three core priorities that drive our impact:
1. Thought & Practitioner Leadership
We bring together experts and innovative thinkers to provide cutting-edge research and solutions in leadership education. Through our Change Architects, we benchmark industry trends, develop insights, and position CLLA as a leader in leadership development.
2. Consulting & Training Services
We offer customized consulting and training for educators, organizations, and institutions, designing tailored learning solutions that align with their specific needs. From program development to strategic planning and educator training, we help our clients achieve measurable outcomes.
3. Content Creation & Dissemination
We create high-quality leadership curricula and digital resources, integrating experiential learning and technology. Our content includes leadership guides, online courses, case studies, and tools designed to support students, educators, and professionals in leadership development.
